Judy Tobe – President
During her career in fundraising and communications, Judy has worked in a range of senior management roles helping organizations realize their potential and in a series of positions that have assisted organizations to build their profile. Judy began her career with Ogilvy and Mather, one of the world’s largest advertising agencies, where she learned the power of marketing and branding and the impact of telling your story.
After leaving advertising, Judy focused her attention on the not-for-profit sector where she worked at keeping the public informed of issues and the organizations she was promoting. Her business has been awareness and ensuring the public can make a donation, purchase a product, or formulate an opinion on public policy.
Judy has led a number of non-profit organizations, including Toronto Grace Hospital Foundation and most recently Frontier College Foundation where she was responsible for overall strategic planning and leadership; board development and committees; all areas of fundraising including corporate and foundation giving, major individual gifts, strategic partnerships, direct mail, planned giving and special events; publications; marketing; administration; financial and risk management matters; and planning and development.
Prior to this, she held senior development, communications, public affairs and marketing positions with a series of organizations including St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto Grace Hospital, and the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation where she looked after government relations at all three levels, media relations, special events, crisis management, fundraising, communications and marketing.
A recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for her contributions to Canada, Judy is an avid reader, current affairs junkie, and patron of the arts.
